Jacqueline Real, A.K.A. MISS J, is a genre-defying songwriter and artist from the North Shore of Long Island, New York. Raised on the raw energy of classic rock—spun through her father’s boombox—her early influences included legends like Cream, The Doobie Brothers, and The Doors.
Her musical palette expanded through her sister’s love of alternative and punk-infused acts like Sublime, The Movielife, and 311, while her own inspirations ranged from Jim Morrison and Joan Jett to Aaliyah and the pulse of disco. The result is a rich, cross-genre foundation that continues to shape her sound.
MISS J’s artistic evolution accelerated after discovering the festival scene, where she found her voice blending deep house grooves with hard rock grit. Originally a spoken word poet, she channels personal experiences—including her journey with mental health and imposter syndrome—into emotionally charged, authentic songwriting.
With nearly 15 years in the film and television industry as an actress and short film producer, MISS J brings a cinematic edge to everything she creates. She has collaborated with a range of respected creatives, including Femke, David Ray Stevens, John Maxwell Hefley, Kareem Thompson, Danny Gold, and Peter Kooper.
Expanding her creative reach beyond music, MISS J is also the creator and host of “THE MISS J EXPERIENCE,” a dynamic talk show centered on authentic conversations around music, mental health, and everyday life. With honesty, humor, and heart, the show fosters connection, growth, and self-discovery—encouraging audiences to embrace healing, build better habits, and navigate their journeys with confidence. Bridging her artistic vision with real-world insight, MISS J continues to inspire both on and off the stage.
Her latest album, ROCKHOUSE, is a bold, high-energy statement—fusing rock, house, pop, and funk into a vibrant, inclusive sonic world.
Classic rock energy. House music heat.
MISS J’s ROCKHOUSE is the genre-bending sound you didn’t know you were craving.
